Ghent House NY
Private Residence in Ghent, New York.
This Rip Van Winkle House in the Hudson Valley pays homage to the mountain views with its yawning roofs which resemble a bird in flight, and its sky porch perched like a nest on the top floor. Above all, this house pays homage to Indian crafts. The handcrafted Kadappa façade flanking the entrance, teak windows and Jaiselmer stone gazebo are custom designed by architect/sculptor Tarik Currimbhoy. A row of antique South Indian fruit-wood columns punctuate the front façade of this house on the hill.
